Three Infinity Published Authors win USABookNews.com Awards

The winner in the Audio Book: Spiritual category was Many Faces to Many Places by Judy Azar LeBlanc.  The 3-CD set was produced and published by Infinity’s audio book division, Spoken Books Publishing.  USABookNews.com described Judy’s audio book as a “spiritual allegory depicting the growth of Many Faces, as she encounters all aspects of humanity on her way to self realization.” Written in the fashion of a children’s book. It is an extremely entertaining listen for any grown up who appreciates the struggle towards enlightenment.

In the Light of the Passing: Book One, by K.C. Berg, won recognition as a Finalist in the Fiction & Literature: Fantasy/Science Fiction category. In this fantasy/romance novel, Shance, a young commander, is torn from his home. Believing his people have perished, he is drawn into a political struggle on another world.

Finalist in the Fiction & Literature: Historical Fiction category was The Perfect Steel Trap Harpers Ferry 1859, by Bob O’Connor.  Bob’s historical novel provides eye-witness accounts of the John Brown insurrection. Stories from Robert E. Lee, the family of John Brown, and ordinary citizens like Margarette Brown and Christine Fouke are included in the book.  In March of 2006, Bob was honored to receive a request for his book from First Lady Laura Bush.  He was delighted to deliver an autographed copy to the White House.

USABookNews.com is the premiere online magazine and review website for mainstream and independent publishing houses.  Each November, they announce the winners and finalists of their “BEST BOOKS 2006” NATIONAL BOOK AWARDS (BBA). This year, the awards were presented for titles published in 2006 and late 2005.  There were 408 winners and finalists in over 120 categories covering print, audio, e-books and interactive CD-ROMs. The BBA’s are now in their fourth year.

Jeff Bowen, president and publisher of USABookNews.com, said this year’s contest yielded an unprecedented num-ber of over 1200 entries, which were then narrowed down to 408 winners and finalists by a distinguished panel of independent judges.

Bowen says of the awards: “The 2006 results represent a phenomenal mix of books from a wide array of publishers throughout the United States. As an executive in the publishing PR and marketing industry and president of both USABookNews.com and PubInsider.com, I wanted to create an awards competition that recognized books in their publication year rather than months after the original launch window. With a full publicity and marketing campaign promoting the results of BBA, this year’s winners and finalists will gain additional media coverage for the upcoming holiday retail season.”
